Agena had a main rocket engine capable of multiple re-starts in space in the modified target vehicle version it also had two secondary engines to provide small changes in velocity and position in orbit. Agena played a key role in manned space flight it was the target vehicle for rendezvous and docking maneuvers in NASA's Gemini project. space exploration, the Agena upper stage which was also employed as a spacecraft, the whole vehicle going into orbit.

Great bargain with super nice eye placement if you can live with outer edge astigmatism in a fast scope. The 38mm SWA also works really good in a long focus refractor or SCT alone. I think the 38mm SWA may work the same in the TeleXtender / focal reducer, though I am not positive it will entirely clean the edges up.

I tried a Meade 28mm Meade SWA as well which showed coma from the mirror, but once I put it into a Meade TeleXtender it was sharp right out to the edges and did not vignette like it did in a regular barlow. The field stop in every 38mm SWA I owned were razor sharp. I found the same thing with the 2" 34mm ES 68, but to a lesser degree than the 35mm Panoptic. The 38mm SWA plays better with 2 inch filters as well. While the 35mm Panoptic just spanks this eyepiece in sharpness, the 38mm SWA spanks the 35mm Pan in the eye placement dept. I have tried the 35mm Panoptic and in my scope the stars are way sharper, but you get a lot of kidney bean distortion and need to keep your eye in one place for the best view. However, I do like the fact that it does not black out, it has really long eye relief and it is fairly light. This eyepiece gives me just over 2 degrees of sky, with the inner 65-70% sharp ~ The outer left over field is astigmatic. All four performed the same in my 10" F/4.7 Dob. Three were Orion Q70's and another was the 38mm Burgess. BTW, I've seen some of them recently here in CNC. If you check out the used market, like CNC or AM you can see the 26, 32 and 38mm eyepieces pop up regularly. For example, you can find some info here.

There is some info about these EPs, but it spread out so you need to spend a lot of time to dig up something. These eyepieces are quite ubiquitous and sold under variety of brands like FWIW, adding 2x Barlow cleans up the edges pretty well. When I get funds for the 30mm ES82 or the 31T5 I'll replace it, but for now I'm quite satisfied, really good bang for my back. I dunno why, but the latter shows just muddy washed out BG.

When I look for some faint fuzzies in my LP skies (red zone) I prefer this one over the 32mm TV Plossl. It shows very good contrast and light transmission. This EP has astigmatism in the outer 30% of the field, but the central 70% is sharp. And my experience is exactly as mikecase said. The 32mm Agena SWA is my major WA low power eyepiece in my 8" f/6 Dob.
